amount of sleep lost preparing lunch in the middle of the night: 3 hours

my mum: priceless

i know, i know...that was dorky. ;)

john and i are having some adventures here while his parents are out of town for two weeks. yesterday we tried to wash the dishes in the dishwasher but someone (hint: not me) put the wrong soap into the dishwasher and this resulted in bubbles POURING out of the bottom of the dishwasher. like the kitchen floor was seriously being flooded with bubbles. they wouldn't stop! it was like something out of i love lucy. john and i were crawling around on the floor trying to mop up the water and soap with towels but it was of no use -- like trying to dry up a bathtub full of water with a towel -- so finally john came up with the great idea to use the shop vacuum to suck up the bubbles/water. there was so much liquid that the entire thing filled up (and it's a BIG vacuum), got emptied, and filled up some more. it was half terrible, half hilarious. so john and i aren't the best when it comes to housecleaning, but at least now we know how to use the dishwasher here.

AND to make things even better, john bought me the entire collection of rainbow brite episodes, and a tape of strawberry shortcake episodes too! those aren't even made anymore so that's way awesome. i've been watching them and reverting to my childhood. i have the greatest boyfriend/best friend in the world...

smile like you mean it.

xoxo
